Information we collect automatically. When you visit the Site we automatically collect information about your device and browsing activity through cookies and similar technologies, and our web server records each request in its logs. This may include your IP address and approximate location, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URL, the pages you visit and time spent on them, and your interactions with Site content.
We use the following third-party services, each of which receives or processes personal information. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
We use Google Analytics, deployed with Google's site tag (gtag.js), to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects your IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, session duration and referring URL. Google processes this data on our behalf and may also use it for its own purposes in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
You may opt out of Google Analytics on any website by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or you may decline Analytics cookies using the cookie preference tool on this Site.
Google Fonts and Google Hosted Libraries. We load typefaces from Google Fonts and the jQuery script library from Google Hosted Libraries. Google receives your IP address and browser information when these files load.
Website hosting. The Site is hosted by DreamHost. Its servers process your IP address, browser information and the pages you request in order to deliver the Site, and record them in server logs.
We use personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:
We do not use your personal information for any purpose that is materially different from, or incompatible with, the purposes described here without first providing you notice.
In the preceding twelve months we have disclosed the following categories of personal information for a business purpose:
| Category disclosed | Categories of recipient |

| Internet or network activity | Analytics providers, hosting providers |
| Geolocation data (approximate) | Analytics providers |
We also disclose personal information where we are required to do so by law, by court order, or by a governmental or regulatory authority; where necessary to protect our legal rights, safety or property; and to a purchaser or successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. However, our use of Google Analytics described in Section 4 may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). You have the right to opt out — see Section 8.
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, grouped into two categories:
You can accept or decline any non-essential category using the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences control available on every page.
Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block Strictly Necessary cookies, the Site will not be able to remember your cookie choice.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the following rights.
Right to Know. You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which it was collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting or sharing it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
Right to Data Portability. Where you request the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, we will provide it in a portable format that is readily usable and allows you to transmit it to another entity without hindrance, where technically feasible.
Right to Delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to the exceptions permitted by law — for example, where we need the information to complete a transaction, comply with a legal obligation, or detect security incidents.
Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We do share certain information with our analytics provider, which may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You may opt out at any time using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer of every page, or by contacting us using the details below.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide the required mechanism.
Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, provide a different level of quality, or otherwise discriminate against you because you exercised any of these rights.
Global Privacy Control. We recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for that browser, with no further action needed from you.
Submit a request in any of these ways:
What happens next. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we will notify you and may extend by a further 45 days, for a maximum of 90 days.
Verification. Before acting on a Right to Know, Delete or Correct request, we must verify your identity. We will ask you to provide information that matches what we already hold — typically your name, email address, and information about a recent interaction with us. We will not use information you provide for verification for any other purpose. We may decline a request we cannot verify, and we will tell you why.
Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require written permission signed by you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly with us.
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. In practice:
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and vetting of service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children. The Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at privacy@richardswilcox.com and we will delete it.
Links to other sites. The Site contains links to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide more prominent notice, such as a banner on the Site. We review this policy at least once a year.
Accessibility. If you need this policy in an alternative format, contact us at privacy@richardswilcox.com and we will provide it.
